Three Union College Baseball Players Earn All-Conference Honors

Miller, Swarts, and Keaveney Recognized for Outstanding 2026 Season

A Triple Honor for the Garnet Chargers

The Liberty League announced its All-Conference baseball team this week, and the Garnet Chargers celebrated a rare sweep of three players earning spots on the first, second, and third teams. The recognition reflects a season in which Union College’s squad combined offensive firepower with clutch pitching, positioning the program as a rising force in the league.

Caleb Miller, a senior outfielder, secured his third consecutive first-team accolade, a testament to his consistency at the plate. He paced the Chargers in nearly every offensive metric, topping the conference in hits, runs, and RBIs while also leading in total bases and at-bats. Miller’s record-breaking hit and RBI came on April 29 against VTSU Castleton, and he rode that momentum through a 12-game hitting streak to close the season.

Dylan Swarts, a sophomore shortstop, earned a second-team nod after a breakout year that placed him atop the league in home runs, runs scored, and RBIs. In addition to his bat, Swarts proved his versatility on the mound, posting a 2.19 ERA over seven relief appearances and striking out 13 batters in 12.1 innings.

Andrew Keaveney, a utility player, garnered third-team honors for the second straight season. His .450 on-base percentage topped the conference, and he set personal bests in runs, RBIs, and slugging percentage, underscoring his all-around impact.

Looking Ahead for Union Baseball

With three All-Conference honorees returning next year, the Garnet Chargers aim to build on this momentum. Coach Jake Fishman, who has guided the team through a period of rapid development, expressed confidence that the experience gained will translate into stronger performances on the field. The program’s upward trajectory suggests that Union College could become a perennial contender in the Liberty League.
