A fresh start for the Pirates
Coach Kyle Sutton is entering his second year at the helm of the Branson boys soccer program, bringing continuity and a clear vision for the club after a modest 11‑12 finish in the previous campaign.
The roster will feature eight returning starters, among them senior goalkeeper Liam Hill, senior midfielder Dylan Hill, and senior forward Kannon Eaves. Alongside them, defenders Steven Aranzazu and Kooper Alms, plus several other letter‑winning forwards and midfielders, give the squad a blend of experience and depth.
Leadership and versatility in the midfield
Dylan Hill has emerged as a technically gifted midfielder who can adapt to multiple positions on the field. His growth has also translated into a leadership role, as he now helps guide younger teammates through the rigors of the season.
Kannon Eaves, the team’s second‑leading goal scorer from last year, started the majority of matches and will be expected to add even more firepower to the attack this time around.
Building on off‑season momentum
Attendance at practice sessions has risen to between 40 and 55 players, a jump attributed to heightened player commitment and the buzz generated by the recent World Cup. The coaching staff believes this energy will translate into stronger team cohesion.
Last season the Pirates recorded 33 goals and 11 assists across 23 games, averaging 1.44 goals per game. The objective for 2026 is to surpass that figure by focusing on player development, tactical refinement, and maintaining the momentum built during the off‑season.
Season opener and tournament return
The Pirates will open their campaign in the Webb City Kickoff Classic, a tournament they captured the previous year, before hosting Nixa at home on September 1. Both events mark the start of a schedule that promises competitive matchups and an opportunity to showcase the team’s progress.
