Bradley Central High School announced this week that Jody Adams, a former Lady Bearettes star and University of Tennessee national champion, will take the reins of the girls basketball program.
Adams, who starred at Bradley Central before leading the Lady Vols to a 1991 NCAA title, returns to the school that launched her basketball journey.
Her coaching résumé spans more than three decades, including 13 years at the NCAA Division I level and a stint as an assistant with the national team.
She replaces Jason Reuter, whose 16‑year tenure produced four state championships and a cascade of district and regional titles.
Under Reuter, the Bearettes captured 16 district crowns and 15 region championships, setting a high bar for the new coach.
Continuing a Winning Tradition
Adams says she is eager to preserve the culture of excellence while mentoring the next generation of leaders.
The school board and athletic director cited her deep ties to the community and her proven ability to develop talent as key reasons for the hire.
The appointment also links the program to a broader network of basketball excellence, referencing her connections to institutions such as the University of Tennessee and the Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame.
