A New Defensive Identity
Baylor University is gearing up for the 2025 college football season with a clear focus on strengthening its defensive front. After a promising start under new leadership, the Bears are counting on a revamped defensive line to generate pressure and improve run‑stopping.

Coach Jacori Greer, who replaced Inoke Breckterfield, brings a strong track record from his time as a Group of Five coach. His recruiting network helped land several of the portal additions, positioning the defense for immediate impact.
Greer’s scheme emphasizes aggressive pass rush and disciplined run defense. Early projections suggest the line will produce more consistent quarterback pressure, record sacks, and limit opposing ground games compared to the previous season.
Fans are optimistic that the defensive turnaround could restore the excitement Baylor fans last felt in 2021, when the team’s defense was a dominant force. The combination of elite depth and Greer’s coaching acumen promises a more cohesive and threatening front.
