Missouri’s preseason camp has already logged ten practices, leaving five more before the team shifts focus to game‑week preparations for its season opener on September 3.
Depth Chart Adjustments
Among the absentees, left tackle Cayden Green, a preseason All‑American, missed the latest session, with coaches suggesting the absence may be related to load management or an unconfirmed injury; backup Jack Lange stepped in at the position and showed promise in drills.
The practice also saw defensive tackle Donta Simpson Jr. and tight end Gavin Hoffman sit out for the second straight day, with Simpson still limited in activity since camp began and Hoffman hobbling off earlier; wide receiver Cayden Lee arrived late, warming up before joining the group.
Kicker Blake Craig started the session flawlessly, converting attempts from 20, 27, 38 and 41 yards, while second‑string prospect Oliver Robbins nailed three of three PAT tries.
At running back, Montana transfer Malae Fonoti is vying for a backup role alongside Ahmad Hardy and FCS recruit Xai’Shaun Edwards, adding depth to the backfield competition.
In the secondary, true freshman Jaxson Gates and rookie Jayden McGregory are battling for spots in the cornerback and safety rotations respectively, while depth chart experiments have seen Whit Hafer take third‑string left tackle reps and Charleston Southern transfer Colin Sorensen fill in at reserve center.
