A Milestone for Kansas State Baseball
Playing for the Harwich Mariners, Smolinski helped steer the club to the championship series, where they edged the Bourne Braves in a decisive Game 3. His contributions were pivotal, as he posted an .938 OPS across the tournament, highlighted by six homers, ten stolen bases and a .313 batting average over 37 games.
The Mariners’ triumph was not only a testament to Smolinski’s offensive firepower but also to the team’s overall cohesion, a factor that earned them the Paul Galop Commissioner’s Cup for integrity and professionalism.
