A New Era for the Panthers
Former NFL running back Rashaad Penny has taken the reins of the Jordan Panthers, bringing a disciplined approach and a wealth of professional experience to a young team eager to prove itself.
The roster features a blend of seasoned leaders and fresh talent, including veteran quarterback Sama’Jay Jackson, who has shifted to wide receiver, and returning junior Jordan Thomas, a versatile playmaker on both sides of the ball.
Adding to the mix, senior running back Khayiel "Noonie" Wisner, a transfer from Dominguez, and backup-turned‑starter Caydyn Hampton, who will now lead the offense at quarterback, give the Panthers depth and dynamism.
Defensively, the line will be anchored by Nathan Rodriguez at defensive tackle and Jakob Peapea at defensive end, while the secondary looks to build on recent improvements.
The team’s new stadium, complete with a distinctive blue turf, was unveiled a year ago, and construction has been underway for more than a decade, symbolizing a long‑term investment in the program’s future.
Off the field, Coach Penny emphasizes team spirit, discipline and brotherhood, setting a goal of achieving a .500 record and fostering unity as the Panthers navigate a reduced Moore League schedule that now includes just four league opponents.
The season opens with a home matchup against former league rival Compton on August 20, a game that will test the squad’s readiness and set the tone for what the coaching staff hopes will be a balanced and competitive year.
