The opening night of the high school football season turned into a showcase of dominance for the Fremont High School Silverwolves, who traveled to Moyes Stadium to face their longtime rivals, Weber High School. The final scoreboard read 34‑3 in favor of Fremont, marking the third consecutive rivalry victory for the team.
A Freshman’s Breakout Performance
Freshman Isaia Fonotisatele emerged as the offensive sparkplug, delivering three touchdowns that highlighted the Silverwolves’ 34‑3 victory. His most eye‑catching moment came when he fielded a punt and raced 55 yards down the sideline for a score that ignited the home crowd.
Quarterback Calvin Cooper found Fonotisatele on a short pass that set up an early‑quarter touchdown, while running back Ryder Wade contributed a 47‑yard rush that helped establish momentum. Both plays underscored a balanced attack that kept Weber’s defense on its heels.
Weber’s defense proved resilient, forcing multiple turnovers and several fourth‑down stops, but the Silverwolves’ special teams turned those opportunities into points. A blocked punt led to a short field goal, and later a recovered ball set up another scoring drive.
Coach Nate Tuatagoloa praised the youngster’s speed and playmaking instincts, calling him a phenomenal talent that could shape the team’s future. ‘Isaia’s ability to change the game in an instant is rare,’ Tuatagoloa said after the win.
The victory not only extended Fremont’s rivalry win streak to three but also set the stage for a much‑anticipated matchup with Davis in the coming weeks. With the early season rhythm in place, the Silverwolves look poised to carry their momentum forward.
