The Tennessee Titans have named Dave Gardi as their new Executive Vice President of Football Operations, a move that brings a seasoned league veteran into the franchise’s senior leadership.
A Veteran Career
Gardi’s career spans more than two decades in professional football, most recently as Senior Vice President of Football Initiatives with the Washington Commanders, where he worked closely with the coaching staff and front office on in‑game management, compliance and officiating analysis.
Prior to that, he spent 21 years in the NFL league office, rising to the role of Senior Vice President of Football Operations, where he helped shape league policies, maintain competitive balance and advise clubs on collective bargaining matters.
Reporting to Borgonzi
In his new position, Gardi will report directly to Titans General Manager Mike Borgonzi, who expressed confidence that Gardi’s extensive background would translate into an immediate impact on the team’s football operations.
Broad Scope of Duties
The role will place him in charge of Football Administration, Football Strategy and Analytics, Football Research, Football Information Systems, Video, Equipment, Team Operations and Security, giving him oversight of nearly every facet of the club’s football infrastructure.
Education and Early Roots
A native of Sayville, New York, Gardi played quarterback at Brown University before earning a bachelor’s degree in political science and later a Doctor of Law from Hofstra University, grounding his analytical approach in both academic rigor and legal insight.
The appointment signals the Titans’ intent to blend deep league expertise with fresh strategic direction as they look to contend in the highly competitive AFC.
