The Atlanta Gladiators have announced the addition of Stephen Calisti to their roster for the upcoming 2026‑27 ECHL season, cementing a veteran presence on the blue line.
A Strategic Reinforcement for the Gladiators
Calisti, 27, arrives after a standout collegiate campaign at Brock University, where he led all defensemen with 18 points in 28 games and set new personal bests in goals and overall scoring.
The native of Etobicoke, Ontario, honed his game over five years of university play, first at Ontario Tech University before transferring to Brock, accumulating 34 points in 65 appearances and earning a reputation for reliability and offensive contribution from the back end.
Prior to his college years, Calisti spent two seasons in the Ontario Junior Hockey League with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens, posting 83 points in 107 games, and later broke into the ECHL with the Adirondack Thunder and Toledo Walleye, adding two appearances for the Guildford Flames in 2024‑25.
Gladiators general manager praised the signing, noting Calisti’s blend of experience and upside, and expressed optimism that the defenseman will help anchor a defensive corps that aims to compete for a playoff spot.
