Douglas Robertson has been appointed Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Winston‑Salem State University, bringing more than twenty years of collegiate experience to the program.
His career includes head coaching roles at Fort Valley State, South Carolina State and Bowie State, where he guided teams to multiple postseason appearances and earned a CIAA Coach of the Year honor.
A legacy of leadership
Beyond the bench, Robertson served as an assistant at Delaware State and acted as Interim Athletic Director at South Carolina State, giving him a broad perspective on program operations and budgeting.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Master of Public Administration from Bowie State, underscoring his commitment to both athletic and academic excellence.
In his new role, he will focus on recruiting, player development, game strategy and budgeting, reinforcing the university’s push for competitive success and scholarly achievement.
Robertson’s appointment reflects Winston‑Salem State’s ambition to blend seasoned coaching acumen with a forward‑looking vision for its basketball program, aiming to deepen community ties across North Carolina and beyond.
