The Tennessee Titans announced this week that Dave Gardi will assume the role of executive vice president of football operations, succeeding Chad Brinker, who left the organization after more than three years in the front office.
A veteran with deep‑rooted NFL pedigree
Gardi arrives after a 21‑year tenure with the league office, most recently serving as senior vice president with the Washington Commanders for the past two seasons. His career includes a decade as the NFL’s senior vice president of football operations, where he helped shape the rulebook, advised clubs on contracts, salary‑cap matters and broader league policies.
In his new position, Gardi will supervise a wide‑ranging portfolio that encompasses football administration, strategy, analytics, research, information systems, video, equipment, team operations and security, reporting directly to Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi.
A shared academic background
Both Gardi and Borgonzi earned their degrees at Brown University, a connection that may influence the collaborative dynamic between the front office and the coaching staff as the franchise prepares for the upcoming draft and free‑agency period.
Ownership expressed confidence that Gardi’s extensive experience will help steer the Titans toward sustained competitiveness, reinforcing the team’s football infrastructure at a pivotal moment in the organization’s trajectory.
