Polish Goalkeeping Expert Michal Gorszczaryk Joins Clemson Men’s Soccer Staff

Former Charlotte FC academy head brings global coaching pedigree to the Tigers ahead of the 2026 season

Clemson University announced this week that Michal Gorszczaryk, a Polish‑born goalkeeper specialist, will join the Tigers’ men’s soccer staff as an assistant coach beginning in March 2026, marking the start of his first full season with the program in the fall.

Gorszczaryk arrives after a three‑year tenure as Head of Academy Goalkeeping for Charlotte FC, where he oversaw training and recruitment for both the U.S. and Honduras national teams and helped shape a pipeline that produced several collegiate prospects.

His coaching journey includes stints at NC State University, Florida Gulf Coast University and Crown Legacy, the latter during the club’s pioneering 2022 pilot season, as well as assistant roles that saw him design goalkeeper‑specific drills and organize instructional clinics.

During his time at Charlotte FC he also earned a place on United Soccer Coaches’ 30 Under 30 list for 2023‑24, a testament to his innovative game‑plan development and video analysis that sharpened decision‑making between the posts.

A graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Gorszczaryk began his collegiate playing career at Broward College in 2018 before returning to Poland, where he was born in Zgorzelec.

He holds a U.S. Soccer Federation C‑License and a UEFA B Goalkeeper License, credentials that complement his international perspective and are expected to elevate Clemson’s defensive strategies.

A Global Perspective on Goalkeeping

The addition of Gorszczaryk reflects Clemson’s commitment to expanding its recruiting footprint beyond the United States, bringing a blend of European tactical insight and MLS academy experience to the program.

Fans can anticipate a heightened focus on technical development and analytical preparation as the Tigers aim to contend for ACC titles under the new coaching arrangement.
