The 2026 women's soccer campaign got off to a rough start for the Loyola Ramblers, who traveled to Iowa and were handed a 5-0 defeat that left their record at 1-1-0.
Hawkeyes' Second-Half Surge
Iowa struck first in the ninth minute when Liana Tarasco opened the scoring, but the real damage unfolded after the break as three unanswered goals sealed the 5-0 outcome.
The Hawkeyes controlled the tempo, generating 15 shots on target while the Ramblers could manage only three attempts, two of which came from Ana Sofia Mrotzek, Josslyn Weissman and Sarah Collins.
Between the posts, goalkeeper Allison Deardorff made 10 saves, falling just one short of her career high, underscoring the defensive pressure Iowa applied.
The Ramblers will look to rebound when they travel to East Lansing for a Big Ten showdown against Michigan State on August 19 at 6:30 p.m., a match that marks the next step in their conference schedule.
