The Jacksonville Icemen announced this week that forward T.J. Friedmann will be back on their roster for the upcoming 2026‑27 campaign, marking his second stint with the Florida‑based franchise.
A career‑high season
Friedmann’s most productive stretch came in the previous season, when he posted 24 points — 14 goals and 10 assists — across 68 games split between the Adirondack Thunder and the Icemen. His offensive output peaked after a January trade that sent him to Jacksonville, where he contributed 14 points in a short but impactful run.
The forward also logged five games with the Utica Comets, adding two points — one goal and one assist — before returning to the East Coast.
Collegiate roots and championship pedigree
Before turning professional, Friedmann spent four years at Quinnipiac University, where he was a key member of the 2023 national championship team. Over his collegiate career he accumulated 58 points, including 28 goals and 30 assists, showcasing the playmaking ability that has defined his professional trajectory.
The Icemen operate as the ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and the AHL’s Iowa Wild, giving Friedmann a clear pathway to higher levels of competition should his performance continue to rise.
