A Revamped 2027 Calendar
Daytona International Speedway has officially released the 2027 NASCAR schedule, confirming a slate of races that blends tradition with a strategic shift toward milder weather.
The Truck Series will open the season on February 19, followed by the O’Reilly Series on February 20, and the iconic Daytona 500 will crown its champion on February 21. The following weekend will host the Cup Series, marking a rare Saturday date for the premier division.
Weather‑Driven Adjustments
Perhaps the most notable change is the return of the Clash, the exhibition event that last appeared at Daytona in 2021, signaling a renewed focus on showcase racing. Series officials say the new dates were chosen to sidestep the sweltering July heat that has historically plagued early‑summer events.
While the calendar appears set, the series has yet to finalize the venue for its season‑ending race, leaving that decision open for future announcements.
