The venue, previously a call center, will be reborn as a 27,000‑square‑foot complex designed to serve the growing appetite for year‑round youth soccer across the region.
The facility will feature two side fields configured for six‑on‑six play, alongside four smaller glass‑enclosed courts that allow for skill‑specific drills. Renovations will include the removal of existing columns to create an open, flexible playing surface that can accommodate multiple sports.
The project is being led by local coaches Joseph Fourré and Paul Baber, who bring extensive experience from Seacoast United and New England Futbol Club. Their combined expertise aims to fill a gap in indoor turf availability, especially in Northern Maine where major facilities are scarce.
Beyond its physical attributes, The Training Ground is positioned to become a hub for multisport athletes. While the broader youth sports industry in the United States now exceeds $40 billion, families often face steep costs and extensive travel, limiting access to quality training programs.
