The Texas A&M Aggies are set to take the field against Arkansas on October 3, 2023, in a game that will double as a milestone celebration for the university.
For the occasion, the team will wear a new ‘Honor and Support’ camouflage uniform that fuses a desert‑patterned scheme with design cues drawn from the school’s historic Corps of Cadets.
The kit features a maroon facemask, state‑outline lettering and numbers, while the left sleeve bears the Texas flag and the right side showcases a patch that incorporates elements of the Aggie Ring alongside slogans such as ‘Gig ‘Em Aggies’ and ‘BTHO.’
A circular emblem on the patch pays tribute to the Spirit of ’02, the World War I field gun that has been fired after every Aggie touchdown at Kyle Field since 1984.
Design Roots in Military Tradition
The camouflage pattern mirrors the khaki attire of the Corps of Cadets, a unit founded in 1876 that once mirrored the structure of the U.S. Army before the campus opened its doors to women and minorities in the 1960s.
Beyond aesthetics, the uniforms reflect the rolling hills and dry grasslands surrounding College Station, tying the visual theme to the local landscape.
Fans and alumni alike have praised the tribute, seeing it as a fitting homage to a legacy that began as an all‑male military academy and has grown into a diverse, coeducational institution.
