Central to the festivities was USA Today’s Great American Tailgate, a ticketed culinary showcase that served 32 distinct food samples — one representing each NFL team. Attendees sampled everything from classic cheesesteaks to inventive mac and cheese creations, turning the tailgate into a nationwide tasting tour.

The aroma of sizzling burgers mingled with the scent of caramelized onions as vendors served regional specialties alongside stadium‑style fare. Families and die‑hard supporters alike wandered the aisles, hunting for the perfect bite that matched their favorite team’s colors.
Adding to the spectacle, cheerleaders from the Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers performed on the festival grounds, their routines timed to coincide with the Hall of Fame Game on August 6. The game itself set the stage for the weekend’s biggest ceremony.
On August 8, the Hall of Fame welcomed Arizona Cardinals legend Larry Fitzgerald, a wide receiver whose career redefined the position. His induction was met with roaring applause, cementing his status as ‘the best wide receiver of his generation’ in the eyes of fans like Austin Heise, who traveled from afar to witness the moment.
Mark Heise, 60, and his son Austin, 34, described the experience as ‘kind of surreal.’ For the father‑son duo, the festival was more than a celebration of football; it was a chance to honor a player they had followed since childhood.
