The University of Wisconsin–Madison announced this week that Brynn Holventstot will join the women’s ice hockey program for the 2026‑27 season, adding a versatile forward‑defender to the roster.
A Versatile Addition
A native of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Holventstot capped her high school career by guiding the AAA Madison Capitals to a state championship in the 2026 Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association tournament.
Her performance earned her a spot at the 2023 USA Hockey‑BioSteel Girls 15 Player Development Camp, where she was recognized among the top prospects.
Coaches highlighted her readiness to contribute both offensively and defensively, noting that her experience at the elite level should translate well to the collegiate game.
Holventstot said she is eager to begin her college journey, citing the welcoming atmosphere and the academic resources available at Wisconsin as key factors in her decision.
The Badgers are slated to open the upcoming season with a two‑game series against St. Lawrence in Canton, New York, on September 25‑26, marking the first test of the new lineup.
