Actress and singer Kristen Bell stepped onto the field at Coors Field in Denver on a warm summer evening, catching the attention of baseball fans who were expecting another typical Savannah Bananas exhibition.
Bell, known for her roles in "Frozen" and "The Good Place", surprised the crowd by joining pitcher‑turned‑performer Derek Klena for a musical mashup that stitched together three beloved stage and screen songs.
The duo opened with "For the First Time in Forever" from "Frozen", then moved into "Dancing Through Life" from "Wicked", before closing with the iconic "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" from "Dirty Dancing", even recreating the film’s famous lift.
The performance was part of the Banana Ball format, a whimsical twist on baseball that intersperses choreographed dances, comedy sketches and fan interaction between innings.
When Baseball Meets Broadway
Bell’s appearance came just days after she reunited with her "Frozen" co‑stars Idina Menzel and Josh Gad at Disney’s D23 Expo, where a teaser for "Frozen 3" — slated for a November 24, 2027 release — was unveiled.
The exhibition game was held at Coors Field, the home of the Colorado Rockies, and was streamed live to millions of viewers who appreciated the blend of sports, Broadway and Disney magic.
Disney, the parent company of the "Frozen" franchise, has increasingly leveraged its intellectual property to create cross‑platform experiences that blur the line between entertainment mediums.
