Villanova University’s women’s soccer team delivered a commanding 9‑0 victory over Lehigh University on Tuesday, turning the contest into a scoring carousel that left the opposition scrambling.
A Scoring Carousel
The Wildcats struck early, with Morgan Kotch opening the floodgates within the first five minutes. After a crisp pass from Avrie Nelsen, Kotch unleashed a one‑timer that beat keeper Chloe Zipprich, and she added a second goal following a corner‑kick deflection.
Tea Gambardella, Kaydee Amorosa, Becca Miller and Abby Graul all recorded their first collegiate goals, while Gabby Koluch converted a penalty in the ninth minute to push the lead further.
By halftime the Wildcats had outshot Lehigh 12‑2, a testament to their relentless attack.
The second half saw Ryley Dixon and Amalia Cardo extend the margin, and in the final fifteen minutes Abby Graul, Becca Miller and Dez Zapata capped the night with the last three goals.
Between the posts, Hannah Dickinson made just a single save, sharing the shutout with Natalie Mutschler.
Villanova’s next test arrives on August 27, when they travel to face Columbia University in New York.
