The Berkshire Adult Baseball League crowned Tunnel City Freight as its Division champions on Sunday, as the team rolled past the Dalton Money Makers 11-3 in a decisive Game 2 of the best-of-three series.
Matt Clark, who had already earned the league’s MVP honor, took the mound for four and two-thirds innings, limiting the opposition to a handful of runs while his bat contributed to the offense.
The early going saw Tunnel City strike first; Nolan Brassard opened with a triple and Jon Boucher followed with a two-run single, pushing the lead to 3-0 before the Money Makers could answer.
A seven-run third inning turned the contest into a rout. Mike Cirullo and Matt Clark each delivered two-run singles, while Kevin Lamb added an RBI double that stretched the advantage further.
Dalton managed to chip away in the sixth, with Frank Curtiss’ single sparking a brief rally that produced two runs, but the damage was already done.
The momentum carried into the seventh, where Jon Boucher navigated a pair of errors to keep the score intact, sealing the victory.
The win marks the second straight championship sweep for the league’s top teams; earlier, the Great Barrington Millers captured their third consecutive 20-year-old Division title.

Matt Clark’s dual role as pitcher and offensive catalyst earned him the MVP award, while D.J. Clark’s Game 1 win and contributions from players such as Jarrett Bayliss, Mike Wojtkonski and Jared Carroll highlighted the depth of the roster.
