The Old Dominion University women's soccer squad recorded its first win of the season, a 3-0 victory over Longwood that marked Coach Will Roberts' inaugural triumph in charge of the program.
A Strong Start for the Silver and Blue
Ally Richardson opened the scoring in the 18th minute, converting a free‑kick header from Ashlynn Kulha that set the tone early in the match.
Midway through the second half, defender Sydney Somers, a fourth‑year player from Littleton, Colorado, added a second goal with a looping strike that stretched the lead.
Hannah Morgan capped the scoring in the 66th minute, finishing off a play set up by Riley Mullen’s defensive effort, while the team’s depth shone through contributions from Dylan McEntarfer and Kulha.
Goalkeeper Ellie Goodrich played the full 90 minutes and preserved a clean sheet, despite a mid‑half substitution by Longwood’s Lexie Miller, who made two saves before yielding the net.
Statistically, ODU outshot Longwood 11‑3, with seven of those attempts on target, underscoring the team’s efficiency and defensive discipline.
