Opening Night at Corcoran Field
The RedHawks opened their 2026 campaign on a rainy evening at Corcoran Field, where Xavier University seized a 3‑0 victory that set the tone for the season.
Xavier struck first when Brooklyn O'Brien found the net before the clock had even reached a minute, giving the visitors an early lead.
The home side struggled to respond, and Xavier doubled their advantage through a clinical finish by Kieran Bradley in the second half, her effort arriving in the 78th minute to seal the result.
Miami's record now sits at 0‑1‑0, while Xavier improved to 1‑1‑0, reflecting a modest rebound for the visitors.
The match also marked a milestone for several freshmen, including Coltie Carson, Averie Bierker, Joanna Bryant, Gracie de Haro, Morgan Tyrakoski, Devin McElroy and Maddie Burke, who all made their collegiate appearances.
Miami will look to bounce back when they travel to face Morehead State on Thursday, August 20, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. at Bobby Kramig Field.
