Greenville Pro Soccer Launches Crowdfunding Campaign to Sell Equity Stakes in Local Teams

Fans can now invest in Greenville Triumph SC and Greenville Liberty SC through a new offering with Vicinity Capital, targeting a $45 million valuation.

Greenville Pro Soccer has opened a crowdfunding campaign that allows supporters to purchase equity stakes in its two professional sides, Greenville Triumph SC and Greenville Liberty SC. The offering, hosted on the Vicinity Capital platform, marks a shift toward community‑driven investment in local soccer.

A New Investment Model for Local Soccer

The campaign launched on August 17 and invites fans to become partial owners of the clubs. Investors can start with a $2,500 commitment and receive access to an Owners Club, exclusive perks and a preferred return of 10 percent annually, with quarterly compounding. The first round in April attracted nearly 100 investors and raised more than $733,000.

Capital from the offering will be directed toward expanding team capacity, enhancing marketing efforts, strengthening brand development and providing working capital for long‑term growth projects. The company also plans to secure a USL Super League license for its women’s side, valued at $12 million, once the new stadium stabilizes.

Valuation and Risks

Greenville Pro Soccer is currently valued at $45 million, a figure derived from $35 million of owner investments, the $10 million valuation of its USL League One membership and projected growth. While the upside includes potential returns and heightened community engagement, the company warns that investors could face financial losses and that liquidity events such as sales or recapitalizations remain uncertain.

Beyond the financial considerations, the campaign reflects a broader trend of sports entities leveraging crowdfunding to broaden their investor base. By blending equity ownership with tangible perks, Greenville Pro Soccer aims to deepen fan involvement while securing the resources needed to compete at higher levels.
