The Troup High football program has cause for celebration as it reveals that three of its seniors have been selected for the 2026 preseason AJC All‑State team, a recognition that highlights the depth of talent returning to the roster.
A legacy in the making
Jeremiah Culpepper, a dominant defensive lineman who recorded 12 sacks, 16 tackles for a loss and 59 total tackles in 2025, brings a relentless pass‑rush to the field. His performance earned him a spot on the All‑State list and a commitment to the University of Mississippi, where he hopes to continue his development at the next level.
Monyah Johnson, a defensive tackle whose junior campaign featured 49 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss and seven sacks, also earned All‑State honors. The senior has added roughly 25 pounds to his frame, positioning him as a more physical presence on the line, and has pledged to Coastal Carolina, a program eager to capitalize on his growth.
McCarty Harrelson, known for his precision as a punter and kicker, contributed significantly to the team’s special‑teams unit last season. Despite battling knee tendinitis that limited his play, he remains fully healthy and has committed to Georgia Tech, aiming to bring consistency and community impact to the Yellow Jackets.
Coach Tanner Glisson has praised the trio for their versatility, unselfish attitudes and high football IQ, noting that their collective work ethic sets a standard for younger teammates. As they enter their final high school season, the three players are focused on leaving a lasting imprint on Troup High’s tradition of excellence.
