The Tennessee Titans announced Tuesday that Dave Gardi will join the franchise as executive vice president of football operations, a role that places him directly under General Manager Mike Borgonzi.
Gardi arrives after a two‑year stint as senior vice president of football initiatives with the Washington Commanders, where he worked closely with the coaching staff on in‑game strategy, compliance and officiating trends.
A career built on league‑wide experience
His 21‑year tenure at the NFL league office, including a decade as senior vice president of football operations, gave him extensive experience in policy development, competitive balance and the league’s collective bargaining agreement.
In his new position, Gardi will supervise football administration, strategy, analytics, research, information systems, video, equipment, team operations and security, ensuring that the Titans’ football department operates with the same rigor he applied league‑wide.
Borgonzi praised the hire, saying Gardi’s blend of operational expertise and strategic vision will immediately strengthen the club’s football infrastructure.
A native of Sayville, New York, Gardi played quarterback at Brown University before earning a political science degree and a doctor of law from Hofstra University, underscoring a career that bridges both athletic and legal disciplines.
