The Belmont University women's soccer team has been celebrated for its performance both on the field and in the classroom, earning a College Team Academic Award from United Soccer Coaches for the 2025-26 academic year.
Academic Excellence Recognized
The Bruins posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.60 for the full academic year, with a Fall 2025 semester average of 3.749, placing them among 451 programs nationwide that received the honor and one of 175 institutions that excel in both men's and women's soccer.
Six players earned MVC Scholar-Athlete recognition, including Kate Virtel, while another six were selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. Notably, Anna Samuel, Kennedy Wise, Laken Whittington, Olivia Walker, and Lillie Tabor achieved dual honors, underscoring the program's blend of athletic and academic ambition.
Leadership and Upcoming Match
Captains Lillie Tabor and Kate Virtel will steer the squad as it prepares for its next home contest against Chattanooga, scheduled for Thursday at 5 p.m. at E.S. Rose Park. The match marks a key early-season test for a team that returns with a strong leadership core.
Head Coach Kelsey Cameron, in her second year at the helm, has guided the Bruins through a period of sustained growth, fostering a culture that values both competitive drive and scholarly achievement.
