Julian Mackey, a former Florida International University basketball player, has officially signed a professional contract with the Leicester Riders in England’s Super League Basketball, marking the next step in his athletic career.
During his senior season with the Panthers, Mackey emerged as a prolific scorer off the bench, averaging 12.4 points per game and leading the team with 55 three‑point field goals. He demonstrated his shooting efficiency by hitting a perfect 12‑of‑12 from the free‑throw line on November 18 and posting a season‑high 24 points against LSU on November 13.
The Riders, now in their third season of Super League competition, previously captured the league championship in their inaugural year with a 23‑9 record, though they finished 15‑17 in the most recent campaign.
