The conference recognized the Seahawks’ emerging talent by placing midfielder Osei Gyamfi, defender Jake Roberts and goalkeeper Trey Smiley on the CAA Preseason All‑Team, signaling optimism about the squad’s depth.
Gyamfi’s sophomore campaign promises a leap forward after a year in which he tallied three goals and three assists while sharpening his shot accuracy by 13 percent. The midfield engine’s improved efficiency adds a new dimension to the team’s attacking play and underscores his growing influence within the locker room.
Roberts brings a proven track record of resilience and leadership. Having earned All‑CAA Third‑Team honors with the Camels in the previous season, the defender started all 20 matches, contributed seven shutouts and now joins UNCW after transferring in June. Between the posts, Smiley will look to build on a 2025 season that saw him start every game, make 57 saves and record a season‑high seven stops against William & Mary. His consistency between the sticks provides a reliable last line of defense as the Seahawks prepare for a demanding schedule.
Honorable mentions Bryan Miralrio and Gavin Carmichael also received recognition for their contributions. Miralrio, a forward who logged ten starts last season, and Carmichael, a junior defender who added a goal and several assists, round out a roster that blends experience with emerging talent.
