Kentucky Women’s Soccer Triumphs Over Kent State in 5-2 Comeback

Freshman Kyla Dawn shines as Wildcats improve to 2-0

A Late Surge Secures Victory

The Kentucky Wildcats' women's soccer team turned a postponed morning match into a decisive 5-2 win over Kent State, pushing their season record to 2-0-0.

Kent State drew first blood in the seventh minute, capitalizing on a through-ball, but Kentucky answered quickly with a free‑kick strike from junior defender Michelle Moskau in the 29th minute, leveling the contest before the break.

A tightly contested first half ended 1-1, and the second half saw freshman Kyla Dawn break the deadlock with an unassisted goal in the 58th minute, giving the Wildcats a 2-1 lead.

Two minutes later, Rayo finished a left‑footed cross from Dawn that deflected off Kendall Campbell, extending the advantage to 3-1. Dawn added another strike, this time assisted by senior midfielder Nadia Ramadan, before Elkie Bowyer capped the scoring in the 90th minute with a final assist.

The Wildcats' offense outpaced Kent State 56-5 across the season, underscoring their dominance. They will next travel to Dayton for a road game on Thursday at 7 p.m., while all home fixtures remain free to the public.
