Noah Beck, a junior linebacker at the United States Naval Academy, has been making the rounds ahead of the 2026 season, sharing insights into his academic pursuits, athletic ambitions, and personal interests.
Beck, who studies Quantitative Economics, chose the Academy over Dartmouth, Colgate and Duquesne, drawn by Annapolis’s historic charm and the promise of a career that blends service with scholarship.
While he currently lines up at linebacker, his ideal role would be quarterback, the position he sees as the face of the team, and he is eager to test himself against his hometown squad, the University of Cincinnati.
His favorite class, Intro to Macroeconomics, is taught by Lt. Cmdr. Schmidt, a mentor whose lectures have left a lasting impression, and he spends his free time scrolling Instagram, where he follows LeBron James, whom he calls the greatest of all time.
Off the field, Beck’s social circle includes midshipmen such as Sean Crowley, Phillip Hamilton, Dom Purcell and Harry Beacham, whom he would love to dine with, and he finds inspiration in teammates like Tristan Bach, a standout on the men’s lacrosse team.
When asked about game‑day rituals, he points to the roar of the tunnel as his favorite moment, and he favors the blue‑on‑blue uniform combination that he says embodies the spirit of service. He also dreams of a beach vacation with no agenda, and he would love to star in a movie titled “Life of Brick” alongside actor Alan Ritchson.
The Making of a Leader
Looking ahead to 2026, Beck envisions a season defined by toughness, vocal leadership and the “next play mentality” that he says every successful midshipman must adopt. He names Kyle Jacob, Jackson Gutierrez and MarcAnthony Parker as potential future captains, and he expects surprise performances from Christian Cromer on offense and Xavier Arrington on defense, while praising Gage Leonard as the team’s toughest player.
Among upperclassmen, Stefan Egbe is seen as the best future Commandant, Giuseppe Sessi as the most promising coach, and Phillip Hamilton as the most talkative in practice. Beck models his game after NFL star Fred Warner and cites the Armed Forces Bowl at TCU’s stadium as his favorite road venue.
