Entering his 25th year with the Razorbacks, Van Horn has compiled a career record of 974‑494, guiding the team to three SEC championships and eight appearances at the College World Series, achievements that helped secure his recent induction into the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
His assistant, Bobby Wernes, also received a new deal that runs through 2028, starting at $155,000 and rising to $180,000 in the second year, marking his first multi‑year agreement after a distinguished playing career at Arkansas.
The financial commitment extends to the entire coaching staff, with the three full‑time assistants — Wernes, Matt Hobbs and Nate Thompson — expected to earn more than $1 million collectively next season, a 47.1 % increase over the previous year.
University officials, including athletic director Hunter Yurachek and the Board of Trustees, praised the extensions as evidence of a strategic investment in a program that has maintained NCAA Tournament participation in all but one season under Van Horn’s leadership.
