A new chapter for Dickinson football
Dickinson College announced this week that Khaliq Coleman will join the program as its Recruiting Coordinator and wide receivers coach, while Christopher Rykert has been hired to lead the defensive line and oversee player development. The moves come as head coach Brad Fordyce prepares the Red Devils for the 2026 season, opening with a September 4 matchup against Randolph‑Macdonald College.
Coleman arrives after a stint as offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at Jeannette High School, where he helped resurrect a 3‑7 team into a 7‑4 contender that earned four all‑conference selections. His coaching journey also includes a turnaround at Gettysburg College, where he served as offensive coordinator and helped guide the program to a 7‑4 record, as well as assistant head coach duties at Hempfield High School and a role at Saint Vincent College.
Rykert brings a defensive pedigree forged at SUNY Cortland, where he contributed to back‑to‑back Empire 8 championships and helped develop six All‑Empire 8 linemen, two of whom earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. The former East Islip High School standout, a 2021 Suffolk County champion, will now apply that experience to shape Dickinson’s front line.
Strategic implications
The additions are expected to strengthen both recruiting pipelines and on‑field performance, giving the Red Devils depth at wide receiver and a fortified defensive front. With a schedule that begins against a historic opponent, the new staff aims to translate early momentum into a competitive season under Fordyce’s leadership.
