Clarkstown South Eyes Section 1 Crown After Class A Shift

Veteran coach and returning stars aim to turn a 4‑6 season into a title run

A New Chapter for the Vikings

Clarkstown South varsity football team moved from Class AA to Class A after a 4‑6 record in the power league last season, setting the stage for a fresh challenge in the upcoming year.

Early Momentum in Practice

The Vikings opened 2026 practices on the first day with every player cleared to begin, signaling a full‑speed approach to preparation. The JV squad finished the previous season undefeated at 10‑0, and many of those seniors now anchor the varsity roster.

Stars Returning

Among the returning standouts are quarterback Frankie Brennan, running back/linebacker Manny Chibuzor and offensive lineman/defensive lineman Owen Elaiho, an All‑Section 1 honoree who is drawing Division I interest and dreaming of an NFL career.

Coach’s Vision

Head coach Mike Scarpelli says the experience gained from last year’s tough league schedule and the cohesion built around a core of seniors give the squad a realistic shot at contending for a Section 1 title. The Vikings will host Rye on September 10 and face other traditional powerhouses such as Somers, Kennedy Catholic and other elite opponents.
