Ida Hermannsdottir has officially joined Hammarby Fotboll, signing a contract that runs until 2030 and marking her entry into Sweden’s premier women’s league, Damallsvenskan.
The Icelandic forward brings a proven scoring record to the Swedish capital, having concluded a four‑year stint with the LSU Tigers where she amassed 29 goals, 11 assists and 69 points across 85 appearances.
A Strategic Move for Hammarby
Hammarby’s sporting director highlighted her aerial presence, penalty‑kick reliability and ability to stretch defenses as key factors behind the signing.
Her track record of converting five of eleven penalty attempts in college, ranking second in LSU history, adds a proven set‑piece threat.
The club also values her experience in high‑pressure matches, including LSU’s Sweet 16 run in 2025, which could prove decisive in domestic and European competitions.
Before arriving in Sweden, Hermannsdottir honed her craft in Iceland, starring for FH Hafnarfjörður and later Valur Reykjavik, where she helped the club capture the Icelandic League title and the Reykjavik Cup in 2021.
She also earned caps at senior, U‑19 and U‑17 levels for the Icelandic national team, showcasing versatility across age groups.
The move represents the latest step in a career that has already seen her compete professionally in Iceland and now aims to make an impact in Scandinavia.
