A season in transition
West Allis Hale High School announced that several members of its football coaching staff have resigned ahead of the 2026 season, a move that comes after an administrative leave tied to a confidential personnel investigation.
Interim leadership
Defensive coordinator Cody Schumitsch has been appointed interim head coach, stepping into the role as the program prepares for its season‑opening matchup against Kaukauna.
Administration’s message
Principal Matthew Lesar confirmed the departures in a follow‑up letter dated August 10, emphasizing that no safety concerns have been identified and that the school remains committed to a stable environment for students.
Community outreach
To help ease the transition, the school scheduled an optional parent meeting on August 12, giving families a chance to meet Schumitsch and the new staff, and plans a team cookout on August 19, two days before the first game.
Longtime coach Ryan Teetz, who announced his departure on Facebook, expressed gratitude for the community and signaled a new chapter for the team as it heads into the upcoming season.
