A New Era for Michigan Football
On August 17, 2026, the University of Michigan football program unveiled its slate of captains for the upcoming season, a tradition that underscores the team’s emphasis on leadership and accountability.
Jordan Marshall, a dynamic running back, and Bryce Underwood, the emerging quarterback, were selected as offensive captains, while safety Rod Moore and defensive tackle Trey Pierce earned defensive captain honors.
Moore’s appointment is particularly noteworthy because he becomes the first player in Michigan history to serve as a three‑time captain, a testament to his consistent influence on and off the field.
The announcement also highlighted the Robert Brown family’s 2020 endowment, which recognizes captains for the honor bestowed by their teammates, reinforcing a culture that values peer‑selected distinction.
