Montclair High School alumnus Benjamin St. Pierre entered his freshman season at Misericordia College with a mix of optimism and caution. A early‑season injury threatened to derail his debut, but the young infielder/center‑fielder fought his way into the lineup, finishing with a .277 batting average and an OPS of .835.
A Promising Start Amid Adversity
Despite the setback, St. Pierre’s impact was clear. He led the team with three triples and shared the home‑run lead with two round‑trippers, while his 17 stolen bases placed him third on the squad. His debut performance — 2‑for‑4 with a two‑run homer and an RBI triple — signaled a player ready to make noise.
The team finished the year 28‑17 but fell short of a NCAA Division III tournament berth. Still, Coach Pete Egbert praised the freshman’s contributions, calling the season “solid” despite late‑season struggles.
