A New Chapter for Great Danes Basketball
The University at Albany has released its 2026‑27 women's basketball schedule, marking the first full season under head coach Kelly Morrone. The slate features 15 home contests, an exhibition match, and a series of road trips that will test the team against some of the nation's top programs.
Season tickets are now on sale, starting at $75, with purchases available online, by phone, or via email. The inaugural campaign opens on November 2 at Northeastern University, setting the tone for a schedule that blends tradition with ambition.
Key matchups include back‑to‑back Power Four opponents: a road test at Ole Miss on November 11 followed by a home clash with Rutgers on November 16. These games are highlighted as pivotal moments that will gauge the Great Danes' progress in the America East Conference.
November's home slate features Bucknell, Cornell, Union, and Stonehill, while December brings Siena, Hofstra, South Carolina, and St. Bonaventure to the Broadview Center. Each of these contests offers a chance for the team to build momentum early in the season.
January will see the Great Danes embark on a demanding road stretch against UMass Lowell, Vermont, NJIT, UMBC, and Bryant, testing their resilience on the road before returning home for February's critical matchups.
The season concludes with home games against New Hampshire on February 25 and Maine on February 27, leading into the America East Tournament that begins on March 4, with the championship game scheduled for March 12.
