President Guillermo Santa Cruz highlighted the economic benefits the event brings to the local community, noting that the upgraded facilities are expected to generate significant tourism revenue and create new job opportunities for residents.
Historically, Homestead‑Miami Speedway held the championship finale from 2002 through 2019, after which Phoenix Raceway assumed the role until 2025; the recent schedule shift returns the finale to its traditional Florida home, albeit one week later than in previous years.
The track’s reputation in the Next Gen era has been bolstered by a series of thrilling contests, with Kyle Larson taking the 2025 victory and veteran Denny Hamlin standing as the most successful active driver with three career wins at the 1.5‑mile intermediate oval.
Kyle Busch, the 2019 champion, remains the only driver to have secured multiple titles at Homestead, underscoring the track’s legacy as a proving ground for the sport’s elite.
