Tim Beier, a lifelong fixture of Regal’s baseball scene, was recently welcomed into the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame, capping a four‑decade run of service that has shaped the town’s sporting identity.
Honoring a Community Icon
The ceremony, held at the River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud, recognized Beier alongside six other inductees, drawing a crowd that reflected the town’s deep‑rooted passion for the game.
Beier Field, the centerpiece of Regal’s baseball activities, has undergone a series of upgrades — including new dugouts, modern lighting and a state‑of‑the‑art scoreboard — that have transformed the venue into a hub for community events and youth tournaments.
This year’s Region 8C tournament at the field attracted 3,207 spectators, sending four local teams to the state stage, a testament to the sustained investment of hundreds of thousands of dollars by the town and its school districts.
Behind the scenes, Beier has tended the field since 1984, a commitment made even more remarkable by personal hardship; the loss of his parents and brother Steve, as well as years when the team fielded only a handful of players, have tested his resolve.
Regal’s baseball legacy includes a Class C state championship in 1991 and a runner‑up finish in 1997, moments that still echo in the town’s collective memory and inspire the next generation of players from neighboring districts such as Paynesville and Belgrade‑Brooten‑Elrosa.
The Hall of Fame museum, housed within the same complex, preserves the sport’s regional history through photographs, trophies and memorabilia, linking Regal’s achievements to the broader narrative of Minnesota baseball.
