York College announced this week that Kaleigh Badecki will lead its women's basketball program, taking over from Katie Kilpatrick after just one season.
A Coach With a Championship Pedigree
Badecki arrives after a decade at Gettysburg College, where she compiled a 209‑48 record, guided the team to nine conference titles and mentored four WBCA All‑Americans, including Emily Gibbons and Emma Dorshimer.
Her success extended beyond basketball; she also coached men’s golf from 2019 to 2021, helping the program achieve a record low stroke average and capture nine championships.
A native of the region, Badecki also brings personal ties to the area, being married to Jason Badecki, the college's head men’s golf coach, and will open her first game on November 9, 2026, against McDaniel College.
The college highlighted her regional recruiting expertise and commitment to excellence as key factors in the hiring decision, noting that she will be the fourth different head coach in program history since 1987.
