A Georgia man, Terrell Williams, has been charged with burglary and related offenses after breaking into the home of former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle in the aftermath of a tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of Biffle’s wife and children.
The Investigation Unfolds
According to investigators, Williams entered the Cobb County residence on December 18, 2025, after learning of the family’s fatal accident, and proceeded to steal approximately $30,000 in cash, two Glock handguns, assorted NASCAR memorabilia, and a collection of gold and silver coins.
The theft was executed with unusual precision; law enforcement officials say Williams employed a radio‑frequency detector to locate hidden security cameras, allowing him to navigate the property while avoiding detection.
During the subsequent search, detectives uncovered evidence of a broader financial scheme involving Biffle’s banking, Venmo and PayPal accounts, where personal data was exploited to move funds across state lines, including the cashing of at least one fraudulent check tied to the athlete’s business interests.
The case has also drawn attention to a separate burglary being investigated in North Carolina, where a law‑enforcement officer was hospitalized after a possible link to Williams’ criminal network emerged.
The National Transportation Safety Board continues to probe the December 18 crash that killed Biffle, his spouse, and two children alongside three others, while the legal proceedings against Williams proceed amid multiple felony charges, including second‑degree burglary and safe cracking.
