Sarasota Paradise soccer club has announced the signing of five teenage players to USL Academy contracts, marking a significant step in the club’s development pipeline.
A new generation of talent
The newcomers bring diverse skill sets: Aran Spengler, an 18‑year‑old technical midfielder from Riverview, is noted for his game‑reading and leadership; Lucas Fredericks, a 19‑year‑old winger from Sebring, combines speed with aggression and has attracted MLS interest; Eeli Elovaara, a 17‑year‑old forward from Wilmington, NC, has been a consistent goal threat and part of back‑to‑back South Atlantic Division titles; Tristan Frederickson, an 18‑year‑old goalkeeper from Naples, trained with the FC Bayern München Global Academy under World Cup winner Klaus Augenthaler; and Michael McGurk, a 16‑year‑old forward from Palm Harbor, has already contributed six goals and three assists for the U20 side.
Club officials highlight the professionalism and maturity of the youngsters, noting that they have already trained with the senior squad and are poised to feature in USL League One matches. Head coach Mark Ward praised their contributions, stating they have demonstrated the right attitude and work ethic throughout the season.
Pathway to professional soccer
The new contracts place the players within the Sarasota Paradise Pathway to Pro Academy, a structured route designed to nurture talent from youth through to the first team while preserving academic commitments.
