NASCAR Announces 2027 Double‑Header at Kansas Speedway

Two weekend events in May and October will bring Cup, Truck and ARCA series back to the Midwest, reviving a historic venue’s racing legacy.

NASCAR will return to Kansas Speedway in 2027 with two distinct race weekends, one in late spring and another in early fall, delivering a full slate of series to the Midwest.

A double‑header revival

The spring weekend, slated for May 8‑9, will feature a Craftsman Truck Series race on May 8 followed by an ARCA Menards Series event on the same day, culminating with the Cup Series race on May 9. The fall weekend, scheduled for October 1‑3, will showcase a doubleheader of Truck and ARCA races on October 1, an O’Reilly Auto Parts Series event on October 2, and the Cup Series finale on October 3.

NASCAR President Pat Warren highlighted the growing demand for live racing in the heartland, stating that the Midwest’s fan base has long awaited the return of top‑level stock car competition to Kansas Speedway.

A track steeped in tradition

Since opening in 1934, Kansas Speedway has been a proving ground for some of the sport’s most memorable moments. The venue’s reputation for producing thrilling finishes was underscored in 2024 when the AdventHealth 400 ended in the closest Cup Series finish in history, with Kyle Larson edging out the competition by 0.001 seconds (3.178 inches).

The 2027 schedule not only restores the track’s place on the national calendar but also reinforces its cultural significance for Kansas City and the broader region, where generations of fans have gathered to celebrate the sport’s heritage.
