Spotlight on Southern Talent
US Youth Soccer has unveiled the 2026‑27 ODP Interregional rosters for the Boys South Region, spanning age groups from 2009 to 2014 and marking the next wave of elite youth prospects set to compete for national team honors.
The South Region assembles standout players from a swath of southern states — including South Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana, Florida and the Carolinas — each vying in regional showcases that serve as the gateway to the ODP National Teams.
Among the 2009 cohort, Ty Ledford from South Texas and Bear Brensinger from North Carolina stand out, while Hawkins Van Daslem and Brayden Cook represent Tennessee in the 2010 group, and Sean Hargreaves alongside Gonzalo Quiroz Sanchez lead the 2011 squads from Florida.
The 2012 age bracket highlights Harrison Heath of South Texas and Callum Cruickshank of South Carolina, while the 2013 cohort draws talent from Tennessee, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, South Carolina and Florida, featuring coaches Tony McManus of the University of Memphis and Jake Douvas of the College of Charleston.
Younger players born in 2014, including Loklan Windon of North Carolina and Mathias Villafane from Georgia, round out the talent pool, underscoring the depth of the region’s pipeline as scouts assess each participant for potential inclusion on the national roster.
The ODP Interregional Events provide a competitive platform where these prospects are evaluated by regional scouts, with top performers earning the chance to join the ODP National Teams that represent the United States on the international stage.
