Wyoming Cowboys unveil 2026‑27 basketball slate
The University of Wyoming’s men’s basketball program has released its 2026‑27 schedule, a blend of non‑conference challenges and a full Mountain West slate that begins in January. Head coach Sundance Wicks, now in his second year, says the schedule is designed to test the team early and build momentum toward a conference title.
Four exhibition games will open the season in October, with matchups against Northern Colorado, TCU and College of Idaho scheduled for the first half of the month. The Cowboys will then travel to Daytona, Florida, for the Sunshine Slam tournament, playing two games on November 22 and 24 against regional opponents.
The non‑conference road portion includes a marquee test at North Carolina, followed by contests at Denver and Colorado State. Additional away games are set against UTEP, Grand Canyon, Hawai'i, Air Force, San Jose State and New Mexico, giving the team a varied geographic spread.
At home, Wyoming will host seven non‑conference opponents, among them Regis, Idaho State, Sam Houston and Winthrop, providing fans with a mix of styles and competitive balance. Ticket pricing remains affordable, with multiple renewal options aimed at keeping the fan base engaged.
Mountain West play begins in January with 18 conference games, featuring home contests against Nevada, UC Davis and UNLV. The schedule sets up a tight race for the league crown, and Wicks says the returning roster combined with newcomers is poised to contend.
