Texas Southern University announced the appointment of Corey Lowery as its new head coach for men's basketball, a move that brings a veteran with 27 years of collegiate and junior‑college experience to the program.
Lowery, who most recently served as director of player development at Saint Peter's University, will take the reins of the Tigers program with the goal of extending the school's proud basketball tradition.
A Proven Track Record
During his tenure at Lincoln University, Lowery guided the team to a second‑place finish in the CIAA Northern Division and earned CIAA Coach of the Year honors in 2021‑22, finishing with a 266‑73 record that reflects a winning percentage of roughly 78 percent.
At Seton Hall University, he was part of a coaching staff that posted 42 wins and reached the NIT National Championship game in 2024, showcasing his ability to compete at the highest levels of Division I.
Championship Pedigree Across Levels
Lowery's early career included six straight conference titles at Essex County College and five region championships, highlighted by NJCAA Division II Final Four appearances in 2014 and 2016. At Middlesex County College, he led the team to three consecutive conference championships and an Elite Eight run in the 2008 NJCAA Division III Tournament.
